Clear history

How to clear the history of command you have typed on bash.
I.e. how to clear the list of commands that you get with

$ history

1. How
Just clear the file ~/.bash_history

$ echo > ~/.bash_history

2. Verification
Now "$ history" should give an empty list of commands.
